Six-Week Break Followed Lung Cancer Surgery

Manilow’s return comes after a challenging year that included a lung cancer diagnosis, surgery and several postponed performances.
The singer revealed his diagnosis in December 2025 after experiencing six weeks of bronchitis followed by another five-week relapse. Although he had recovered enough to resume performing at Westgate Las Vegas, his doctor ordered an MRI as a precaution.
The scan discovered a cancerous spot in his left lung that needed to be removed.
Explaining the diagnosis on social media, Manilow described the early discovery as fortunate and said his doctors did not believe the cancer had spread, although further tests were planned to confirm their assessment.
He also said that, based on the treatment plan at the time, he would not need chemotherapy or radiation.
Manilow underwent surgery in January 2026 and subsequently began working his way back to performing.

According to the report, he completed 29 shows over 68 days before his health-related break forced him to postpone his September Las Vegas residency dates.
His return to Westgate now marks another step in his comeback, bringing him back to the venue where he has continued entertaining audiences throughout his residency.
