Season 30 of The Voice is bringing country music to center stage, and a memorable battle between Caroline Alexis and Everett Bounds has already won over the coaches. The Team Riley duo delivered an entertaining take on Loretta Lynn and Conway Twitty’s classic duet “Louisiana Woman, Mississippi Man,” prompting plenty of smiles and leaving Adam Levine particularly impressed with one contestant.
The battle aired during the season’s first battle episode on Monday, October 12, 2026. Both singers represented Team Riley Green after earning the country star’s attention during their blind auditions.

Caroline initially performed Rascal Flatts’ “Take Me There,” while Everett sang Eddie Rabbitt’s “Drivin’ My Life Away.” Riley was the only coach to turn his chair for either contestant, making both additions to his team.
Caroline Alexis and Everett Bounds Bring Classic Country Charm to the Stage
For their battle, Caroline and Everett took on “Louisiana Woman, Mississippi Man,” one of country music’s most recognizable duets. Rather than simply focusing on vocal power, the pair embraced the song’s playful back-and-forth dynamic, bringing their characters to life and playing off each other throughout the performance.

Their chemistry made the number an entertaining showcase of traditional country music, and the coaches were visibly delighted when the performance ended.
Kelly Clarkson was the first to offer her reaction, praising the duo for delivering such an enjoyable moment.
“That was so fun! It just felt like a throwback…I loved it so much,” Kelly said.
Adam Levine followed with an equally positive response. Although he admitted he did not feel qualified to evaluate the performance from a technical standpoint, he made it clear that he had enjoyed watching the pair. He also leaned toward Everett, noting that the singer appeared to have improved since his blind audition.

As their coach, Riley Green had the final say in deciding which contestant would advance. He acknowledged that “Louisiana Woman, Mississippi Man” is not an easy song to perform, but felt both singers rose to the challenge.
“That was a lot of fun, y’all turned the place into a honky-tonk,” Riley said.
He also explained that the song was less about showcasing big vocals and more about delivering an engaging performance. In his view, Caroline and Everett both understood the assignment, capturing the spirit and personality that make the classic duet so memorable.

Choosing a winner was no easy task for Riley. After describing the decision as “tough,” he ultimately selected Everett.
Explaining his choice, Riley praised Everett’s natural ability to perform upbeat, traditional country songs.
“He’s so natural in that like, fun, up-tempo, traditional country song, and I think that’s something that we really need on my team,” Riley said.

The decision meant Everett would continue competing on Team Riley, while Caroline’s fate depended on whether another coach would give her an opportunity to remain in the competition.
Adam Levine Admits He Has Fallen for Everett
The moment took an amusing turn as the coaches wrapped up their feedback. Adam got out of his chair and walked toward Riley, making his admiration for Everett unmistakable.
“I think I just fell in love with Everett,” Adam declared, prompting Riley to chuckle.
Adam’s reaction suggested that Everett had made a strong impression beyond his own coach. Had Everett been available for a steal, Adam might well have been tempted to bring the country singer onto his team.
The battle highlighted what makes The Voice’s head-to-head rounds so compelling: two artists can deliver a strong performance, yet only one can be chosen by their coach. For Riley, Everett’s ease with traditional country music ultimately made the difference.
