Here’s a woman who sang one of the biggest movie hits in recent years but nobody knew it because she was only the voice. Most people assumed the actress who played the part also sang the song. But Loren Allred of Brooklyn, New York, finally decided to step onto the stage herself–and what a step it was.

Loren was hired to do reference vocals for the 2017 movie The Greatest Showman so the actresses could learn the songs, but actress Rebecca Ferguson convinced the director to let Loren actually provide the vocals and Rebecca would lip synch. Her song, “Never Enough,” became a hit and was even later recorded by Kelly Clarkson.

In this video, Loren explains the story behind the song and why she now wants to sing it, and wow, does she ever sing it! All of the judges were enthralled by her beautiful performance, which not only earned her their praises but also the coveted golden buzzer.
