Country band The Sound won over viewers with a beautiful a cappella Shania Twain cover on a staircase that left fans asking for a CD release

Before winning over the America’s Got Talent judges with their uplifting cover of “Take Me Home, Country Roads,” The Sound had already been winning hearts online with another unforgettable a cappella performance.

The Michigan family band, made up of father Rob Mills and his sons Levi and Jacob, impressed fans with a three part harmony version of Shania Twain’s “You’re Still the One,” performed on a staircase with no instruments. The simple setting let their rich family harmonies shine, and the video quickly drew praise from viewers who could not get enough.

Many fans were amazed by the group’s vocal blend, with one person writing, “Harmonies are always on another level. Such a talented group!” Another simply said, “Incredible harmonies!” while someone else called their voices “killer.”

The performance left many asking for more. One viewer commented, “I would like an acapella CD please,” while another wrote, “Please make a full cover of this song.” Others shared reactions like, “I need way more of this,” “Omg, this is beautiful,” and “Unbelievable guys. Wow.”

Some longtime listeners even compared The Sound to well known vocal groups, with one fan saying they were reminded of Anthem Lights and predicting the trio would “blow up.”

The viral staircase performance came before The Sound’s memorable America’s Got Talent audition, where Rob, Levi, and Jacob performed John Denver’s “Take Me Home, Country Roads.” Their heartfelt family harmonies earned a standing ovation, four yes votes from the judges, and introduced the Dove Award nominated country group to a much larger audience.

For many fans, however, their beautiful take on “You’re Still the One” remains one of the best examples of what makes The Sound so special, proving that sometimes three voices and a staircase are all it takes to create something unforgettable.
