Just weeks after wowing audiences in Paris with the INSANE Bohemian Rhapsody flashmob, 12-year-old guitar prodigy Olly Pearson marked not only his birthday but also two major milestones in his remarkable career.
The young musician, who captured hearts with his electrifying performance, described the whirlwind experience as “changing my life” with stunning emotion.
The flashmob, staged in the Place de la Contrescarpe, featured pianist Julien Cohen, lead singer Mickey Callisto, and a team of 30 talented musicians, including Olly, whose guitar solo nearly stole the show.
The performance, celebrating 50 years of Queen’s iconic hit, quickly went viral, racking up millions of views across Instagram, YouTube, TikTok, and Reddit. Fans and critics alike were amazed by the seamless coordination and emotional power of the ensemble.
Olly, who began playing guitar at six under his grandfather’s guidance, first captured the public eye on Britain’s Got Talent, where he became the youngest performer to receive two Golden Buzzers – one from Amanda Holden and one from Simon Cowell.
His performances, including a note-perfect rendition of Queen’s “Don’t Stop Me Now”, impressed both judges and audiences alike, earning him praise for his technical skill and stage presence.
“Having the Golden Buzzer twist in the semi-final made the contest even more exciting,” Olly reflected. “I still can’t believe my first Golden Buzzer, and then Simon gave me a second one too. Thank you Amanda and Simon for changing my life… I’ve learned they love rock music as much as I do.”
Even outside the studio, Olly’s talents have inspired other young musicians. “A few children have said that after they saw my audition, they started learning to play an instrument. Inspiring others is the most rewarding feeling,” he said.
Now 12, Olly continues to receive performance invitations across the UK and has opportunities abroad in Canada, the US, and Ireland. His family is carefully considering each option, balancing his burgeoning career with school commitments. Speaking about his ambitions, Olly said, “The sky’s the limit, but I’ll keep practicing my skills so I can one day organize my own full concert.”
With fans and industry insiders eager to see what he does next, Olly Pearson is proving that age is no barrier to extraordinary talent and his journey is only just beginning.
