Prince William and Prince Harry were both in London on Tuesday, but the estranged brothers remained physically and emotionally distant as they carried out separate public engagements just miles apart.
The Prince of Wales was photographed visiting Ysgol Gymraeg Llundain (The London Welsh School) on the west side of the capital, where he joined students in sending their support to Team Wales ahead of the Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games, taking place from July 23 to August 2.
William, 44, appeared relaxed and cheerful during the visit, smiling as he spent time with students, joined activities and took part in games at the school.
Meanwhile, Prince Harry, 41, was also in London — but around 12 miles away, roughly an hour’s drive from his brother’s location.
The Duke of Sussex attended the 14th Invictus Games Foundation Conversation: From Policy to Practice at Chatham House, marking his first public appearance since arriving in the UK to promote the 2027 Invictus Games in Birmingham.
Harry appeared in good spirits, smiling and waving to photographers despite facing a major legal setback earlier that day after losing his lawsuit against the publisher of the UK’s Daily Mail.

A Royal Reunion That Still Hasn’t Happened
Despite being in the same city, William and Harry reportedly have no plans to meet during Harry’s current visit.
The brothers’ relationship has remained strained for years, with Harry previously sharing details about their fractured bond in his memoir “Spare.”
In the book, Harry suggested he felt William had received preferential treatment growing up, including during their time living at Kensington Palace.
“My half of the room was far smaller, less luxurious,” Harry wrote. “I never asked why. I didn’t care. But I also didn’t need to ask.”
Harry also claimed William reacted negatively when he first discussed the idea of creating the Invictus Games, suggesting that their sibling rivalry affected his response.
The Duke further alleged that tensions escalated after reports involving Meghan Markle, claiming that an argument between the brothers became physical and that William pinned him to the ground.
Years of Distance Between the Brothers

Attempts to repair the relationship have reportedly failed, despite efforts from people close to the family.
Royal author Christopher Andersen previously told Page Six that Princess Kate Middleton had tried to help bring the brothers back together.
However, William and Harry have continued to maintain their distance, including during the 2024 funeral of their uncle, Lord Robert Fellowes.
Their separation has become one of the most closely watched conflicts within the modern royal family.
Harry’s Solo UK Visit
Harry arrived in Britain alone after originally planning to return with Meghan Markle and their two children, Prince Archie, 7, and Princess Lilibet, 5.
The Duke ultimately decided not to bring his family after he was denied taxpayer-funded security protection.
Harry lost his automatic security privileges after he and Meghan stepped away from royal duties in 2020 and moved away from the UK.
The latest London appearances highlighted the continuing divide between the brothers: two members of the same royal family, in the same city, carrying out their duties separately and showing no public sign of reconciliation.
