Former NFL star Taylor Lewan isn’t hiding his surprise after discovering he wasn’t among the roughly 1,000 guests invited to Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift’s lavish New York City wedding.
Speaking candidly on the latest episode of his Bussin’ With The Boys podcast, Lewan jokingly—but pointedly—questioned why he was left off the guest list despite describing Kelce as a close friend of more than a decade.
“We are extremely happy for them,” Lewan began, noting that he initially assumed the couple had opted for a very intimate ceremony.
“I thought, ‘All good, didn’t get an invite.’ At the end of the day, when it comes to weddings, don’t make it about yourself.”
Lewan said he even texted Kelce to congratulate him after the ceremony, adding that the Kansas City Chiefs star responded quickly.
However, as photos and guest lists from the Madison Square Garden celebration continued to emerge, the former Tennessee Titans offensive lineman admitted he became increasingly confused.

After seeing celebrities, athletes and personalities from across entertainment and sports in attendance—including Pat McAfee, Paul Rudd, Alex Morgan, Baker Mayfield, Benson Boone, Bowen Yang, Dean Blandino, members of Kelce’s NFL circle and others—Lewan started wondering where he stood in Kelce’s life.
“I’m looking at these names,” he said. “When I saw George Kittle’s mom and stepmom there… Yo, we’re boys! I’ve known you over 10 years. We text and call each other.”
“I’m going to take the high road, but clearly I’m doing something wrong in our friendship. Clearly there’s a blind spot I’m not seeing.”
Lewan also joked about the size of the venue, noting that Madison Square Garden has room for thousands of people.
“What you’re telling me is I’m not top 9,500 in Travis’s life?” he quipped.
During the podcast, a producer even asked whether Lewan thought Swift may have influenced the guest list. Rather than speculate, Lewan pulled out his phone and recorded a playful voice message addressed to Kelce, congratulating the newlyweds while asking how invitations were ultimately decided.
He ultimately chose not to send the recording, though the exchange remained in the published episode.
Lewan’s comments echoed those made earlier by his podcast co-host Will Compton, who admitted he was “flabbergasted” after realizing he had also been left off the guest list.
Speaking during a live appearance with Dave Portnoy, Compton said he hadn’t initially thought much about missing the wedding until more details about the attendees emerged.

“As I’ve been seeing these photos of everybody else at the wedding, I’m kinda flabbergasted we didn’t get the invite,” Compton admitted.
Lewan and Compton have both maintained a friendly relationship with Kelce over the years, hosting him on their podcast and spending time with him publicly since his relationship with Swift began.
Despite the jokes and visible disappointment, both former NFL players emphasized that they remain genuinely happy for Kelce and Swift as they begin married life together.
