31-year-old Kayleigh Mathews impressed all four coaches with her powerful performance of Vince Gill’s When I Call Your Name.
Monday night marked the penultimate night of Blind Auditions on Season 30 of The Voice, with the coaches becoming more careful as their teams filled up. But that did not stop Kelly Clarkson, Adam Levine, Queen Latifah and Riley Green from all turning their chairs for Kayleigh Mathews.

The 31-year-old singer from Tucson, Arizona, has a strong connection to country music. Kayleigh is also a former Grand Ole Opry tour guide, giving her an even deeper connection to the country music world. Now based in Nashville, she took the stage to perform Vince Gill’s When I Call Your Name.
Adam was the first coach to turn his chair, followed by Riley and Kelly. Queen Latifah then turned as well, giving Kayleigh a coveted four-chair turn.

As Kayleigh finished her performance, both Queen and Adam gave her a standing ovation. Adam immediately made it clear that he was ready to fight hard to bring her onto his team.
“I am going to fight as hard as I’ve ever fought for you,” Adam told Kayleigh, praising the way her voice filled the room. He also pointed out that while Riley already had a strong presence in country music, The Voice was his world and he believed he could help Kayleigh make the right moves going forward.
“The way that you fill the room with that voice, you are such a magnificent talent,” Adam said, adding that he would be honored to coach her.
Queen Latifah was next to make her case. She told Kayleigh that she deserved to have all four chairs turn and described her performance as a spiritual moment.
“That was absolutely gorgeous. You took me to church,” Queen said, explaining that she could help Kayleigh find songs that would bring out the beauty in her voice and allow her to connect with even more listeners.
Riley Green also praised Kayleigh for taking on a Vince Gill song, calling Gill one of the greatest vocalists in country music. He said the performance reminded him of growing up in Alabama and made him feel like he was back home.

Then it was Kelly’s turn to make her pitch. Clarkson said she was a fan of Kayleigh’s voice and heard hints of Patty Loveless and LeAnn Rimes in her tone.
Kelly also pointed out that she had previously performed a duet with Vince Gill, giving her a personal connection to the song and its legendary singer.
With all four coaches competing for her, the atmosphere quickly became even more entertaining.
Riley decided to have some fun with Adam, telling him that he had already had plenty of time to speak and should now be put in a “duck blind.” A prop blind was brought out and placed in front of Adam, blocking his view of Kayleigh.

Even Carson Daly joked that he had been waiting years to see the moment.
Adam refused to stay quiet, however, walking around the blind and continuing his pitch. He asked Kayleigh whether country music was where her heart truly lived.
“Country music is where my love started, but there’s a lot of soul in what I’ve got to do,” Kayleigh replied.
Adam immediately saw an opening. He told her that he wanted her on his team and that she would occupy the only country space on his roster.
The playful battle between Adam and Riley continued, with Riley reminding everyone that he had built the duck blind himself. Adam eventually joked that their antics may have ruined his chances.
After the coaches made their final pitches, Kayleigh had to choose where she wanted to continue her Voice journey.

In the end, she followed her heart and chose Queen Latifah.
“I would love the opportunity to work with Queen Latifah,” Kayleigh said.
Queen was thrilled with the decision and explained that while she loves country music, she believes Kayleigh is capable of going beyond the genre.
“Country is also soul and rhythm & blues,” Queen said, pointing to her own experience as a hip-hop artist who has also explored jazz and musical theater.
Kayleigh’s four-chair turn adds another strong singer to Team Queen and gives the new coach one of the most talked-about country-leaning artists from the final stretch of the Blind Auditions.
By the end of the night, Queen Latifah had 11 artists on her team, while Adam Levine, Kelly Clarkson and Riley Green each had 10.
The final night of the Blind Auditions airs Tuesday at 8 p.m. ET/PT on NBC, with the episode streaming the following day on Peacock.
