Country star Riley Green has drawn comparisons between The Voice contestants Ferryn & Brinkley and rising country singer Ella Langley, offering the sister duo a major compliment after their standout audition on the hit singing competition.
Ferryn & Brinkley performed The Everly Brothers’ classic “When Will I Be Loved,” earning a coveted four-chair turn from the show’s coaches. The sisters ultimately chose Team Riley Green and have since advanced to Cut Week.
During the coaches’ pitches following the audition, Green explained why the duo’s sound stood out to him, recalling an artist who reminded him of the sisters.
“There’s a girl that reminded me a lot of y’all. I took her on tour with me. Her name’s Ella Langley,” the Alabama-born singer said.
He then added with a playful smile, “She’s doing pretty well.”
Riley Green Praises Ferryn & Brinkley’s Traditional Country Sound
Green’s remark was an understated reference to Langley’s remarkable rise in country music. The singer-songwriter has enjoyed major success with “Choosin’ Texas,” which recently set a new record for the longest-running No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100. She has also emerged as one of country music’s breakout stars of 2026, with growing anticipation surrounding the 2027 Grammy Awards.

Beyond the comparison to Langley, Green revealed that Ferryn & Brinkley’s audition took him back to his childhood and the music that shaped his appreciation for country.
“That was the first performance I’ve seen that took me back to where I grew up at,” he recalled. “I was back in a little music hall in my great-grandparents’ house, listening to country music that my grandparents loved so much.”
He also praised the natural harmony between the sisters, explaining that their voices complemented each other while capturing the spirit of traditional country music.
“Obviously, because y’all are sisters, y’all’s voices go so well together. But it’s got that old-school country music feel, which is such a great time to be that right now,” Green said.
He congratulated the duo on embracing a sound that he believes is making a comeback in modern country music.
Green Jokes About His Success With Ella Langley Duets

Green also referenced his own collaborations with Langley, joking that he has “had a little success with duets.”
The two artists have worked together on “you look like you love me” and “Don’t Mind If I Do,” both of which have helped establish their musical partnership.
Some fans online have interpreted Green’s comments as an attempt to take too much credit for Langley’s success. However, his remarks appeared to be lighthearted rather than a serious claim about his influence on her career.
His primary intention seemed to be encouraging Ferryn & Brinkley by highlighting their similarities to an artist whose traditional-leaning vocals have helped fuel a retro-inspired resurgence in contemporary country music.
For the sisters, being compared to Langley represents significant praise from a coach who has firsthand experience performing alongside the rising star.
Ferryn & Brinkley Advance to Cut Week on The Voice

So far, Green’s confidence in Ferryn & Brinkley appears to be paying off. Their four-chair-turn audition impressed the coaches, and the duo will continue competing on his team as the season progresses.
With their close harmonies and classic country influences, the sisters have already made a strong impression on the competition.
The next episode of The Voice is scheduled to air Monday, October 12, at 8 p.m. on NBC.
