The energy inside the stadium was already electric as BTS took the stage for the final night of their concert stop in Lima, Peru, but the atmosphere transformed into an unforgettable emotional spectacle as fans turned the event into a massive early birthday celebration for Jimin. Ahead of his official 31st birthday on October 13, the idol—affectionately known to millions of fans as “Mochi”—found himself showered with endless love, melodic birthday serenades, and a beautifully coordinated fan project. From the moment the multi-city tour hit South American soil, Peruvian ARMYs made sure Jimin felt adored, culminating in a deeply touching exchange that left both the superstar and his fans in tears.
A Sea of Banners and Sweet Serenades: How Peruvian ARMYs Surprised “Mochi”
Throughout the three-day concert run in Lima (spanning October 7, 9, and 10), dedicated supporters continuously broke out into spontaneous renditions of “Happy Birthday” from the moment doors opened. However, it was during the final concert that the fandom unveiled their master project: a massive hand-banner initiative where tens of thousands of fans raised matching signs reading “Happy Birthday Jimin”. The overwhelming sight brought a radiant, ear-to-ear smile to the singer’s face. Even before the main show kicked off, the warm celebrations were already under way behind the scenes, with his fellow BTS members caught on camera playfully singing happy birthday to him during the pre-show soundcheck session.

Extremely moved by the breathtaking ocean of banners, Jimin paused to address the stadium, reflecting on how much the moment meant to his soul: “This is so beautiful, being born and going through this life makes me feel like life is truly worth living. I’m happy.” He went on to remind fans how eagerly the group had anticipated this trip, recalling: “We said on the first day, right, that we’re really looking forward to the day we come to Peru. We truly feel touched by your love, support, and warm welcome.” Promising to hold these memories close as the group prepares to travel across the globe, Jimin reassured the crowd: “We’ll keep living without ever forgetting that there are you all on the other side of the world who love us so much.”
The ARIRANG World Tour Marches On: Next Stops Across South America and Asia
The heartwarming birthday celebration in Lima marks just one highlight in BTS’s massive ARIRANG World Tour, which is currently sweeping across South America before heading back to Asia. Having successfully wrapped up their trio of sold-out performances in Peru, the iconic K-pop outfit is set to pack their bags for Santiago, Chile, where they will perform at the Estadio Nacional on October 14, 16, and 17.
