Sydnie Christmas drops a huge career surprise ahead of her New York and Philadelphia concerts, leaving fans excited for what comes next

Sydnie Christmas is entering a new chapter in her music career with the announcement of her second studio album, The Artist, a deeply personal collection that showcases her growth as both a singer and songwriter. The album will be released October 2 through Westway Music.

The project follows her chart-topping debut album My Way, but this time Christmas has taken a much more hands-on creative role. She co-wrote every track except one, using the record to reflect on the successes, disappointments, and personal experiences that have shaped her journey in music and musical theater.

Sydnie Christmas to release brand new single 'RUN' on 17 April | West End Best Friend

Before the full album arrives, Christmas will release its third single, Spirit, on September 18. The song follows Run and Lean On You, both of which have already introduced fans to the album’s sound.

According to the singer, Spirit looks back at childhood and the fearless confidence people often lose as they grow older. The song encourages listeners to reconnect with the version of themselves that existed before self-doubt, criticism, and fear took over, celebrating innocence as a source of strength.

Christmas described The Artist as the most honest project she has ever created.

“Writing and releasing my first album feels completely surreal. These songs are the most honest I’ve ever been, each one inspired by real moments that have shaped me—the highs, the heartbreaks, the lessons, the people I love and the times I questioned everything. Creating this record felt like opening my diary and sharing my heart with the world, and I’ve never felt so proud, excited and vulnerable all at once.”

She also shared her hope that the songs will resonate with listeners in different ways.

“I hope these songs become whatever listeners need them to be. If they bring comfort, strength, courage or simply remind people that they’re not alone, then they’ve done exactly what they were meant to do. Writing this album helped me heal and I hope that, somewhere along the way, it helps others too. This is my heart, my story, my album and I can’t wait for people to hear it.”

Producer and co-writer Ash Howes, whose previous collaborators include Ellie Goulding, One Direction, Little Mix, and Kylie Minogue, praised Christmas’s talent from their very first recording session.

“I was blown away by Sydnie’s voice and creativity from our very first day in the studio. It’s been an absolute joy helping bring Sydnie’s musical vision to life and make this very special album.”

THE ARTIST: Sydnie Christmas's New Album to Arrive in October

Westway Music managing director Neil O’Brien also believes the decision to release an album made entirely of original songs was the right one.

“I am incredibly excited to welcome the release of Sydnie’s second album on Westway. It was a brave move to record a collection of entirely new and original songs and I believe what has been created is truly world class. Every song has been crafted and developed over the last twelve months and not only demonstrates Sydnie’s incredible voice—it now showcases her great songwriting skill.”

The announcement comes during a busy year for the Britain’s Got Talent champion. Recently, Christmas joined disco legend Gloria Gaynor on stage at Boogietown Festival for a performance of I Will Survive. She is also scheduled to perform three solo concerts in New York and Philadelphia this August before appearing at The David Foster Foundation’s 40th Anniversary Celebration in Canada alongside CeeLo Green, Loren Allred, and Josh Groban.

Christmas first became a household name after winning Britain’s Got Talent in 2024, but her career has continued to grow rapidly ever since. Her debut album My Way reached No. 1 on the iTunes charts in both the UK and the United States. She completed a sold-out UK tour, including a performance at London’s Adelphi Theatre that was later broadcast on PBS in the U.S.

She has also performed for King Charles III and Queen Camilla at the Royal Albert Hall, made her American debut at the Hollywood Bowl during David Foster’s birthday celebration, released the single Starlight Express after impressing Andrew Lloyd Webber, made her West End acting debut as Cruella De Vil in 101 Dalmatians, and starred in From the Heart, the West End musical revue by Oscar-winning lyricist Don Black.

Alongside her stage career, Christmas has appeared as a guest presenter on This Morning and The One Show, won the Outstanding New ITV Talent award at the 2025 Variety Club Showbusiness Awards, and most recently performed with The Great Ormond Street Hospital Choir during this year’s Britain’s Got Talent semifinals.

With Spirit arriving on September 18 and The Artist following on October 2, Christmas is preparing to introduce fans to what she calls her most personal and authentic work yet.
